Growing up in Brooklyn, my grandmother was always the heart of our family gatherings, captivating everyone with her piano playing and singing. Though my mom encouraged traditional career paths, my love for music persisted. Studying music theory and composition in college fueled my passion further.
I refined my skills through club and event performances, eventually landing a role as a 'guitarist who sings' for a prestigious agency. Yet, I found myself yearning for a deeper musical connection. Thus, New York Edge was born—a band where music reigns supreme.
Teaming up with lead vocalist Shanti Rajah, who later became my wife, we prioritized musical integrity above all else. As word spread about our music-first approach, demand grew, and New York Edge Music emerged, a testament to our dedication to authentic, soulful performances.

I was that kid who'd perch on a dining room chair, singing for anyone who'd lend an ear. Growing up in Manhattan as the mixed-race daughter of an Indian-Sri Lankan dad and an Irish-American mom, music was my calling despite all my dad's nudges toward more traditional careers.
At age 8, I begged for a guitar and taught myself to play the songs I loved. By 10, I formed my first band, naturally taking on the role of lead vocalist. With a diverse musical upbringing—from gospel and traditional Indian-Sri Lankan tunes from my dad, to pop and rock from my Brooklyn-born mom—I immersed myself in voice, dance, and acting.
During college, I delved into freelance music work, landing a spot with a major agency. It was there I met Rich and honed my skills at countless club and event performances. Frustrated by the agency's business-centric focus, Rich's proposal to join him and start New York Edge resonated deeply.
Today, I infuse our performances with my eclectic musical background, aiming to create a shared community experience between performer and audience. I'm thrilled to see our commitment to music-first principles flourish with New York Edge Music.
